Olay Regenerist vs Olay Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System

Olay Regenerist vs Olay Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System

Happy Monday peeps! Hope you all have been well? Sorry I’ve been missing in action the last few weeks. I’ve been procrastinating to the max and semi preparing for my exam coming up next month. Anyway today I have a gem for you, I’ll be comparing the Olay Regenerist vs Olay Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid Cleansing System! I’ve been trialing both cleansing systems for the last 2 months and I wanted to talk about the main differences for people who are interested in either one of these.

Olay Regenerist

The Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System is Olay’s first-ever state-of-the-art, electronic cleansing device designed to effectively loosen, lift and swirl dirt away to cleanse, exfoliate and reveal brighter, smoother skin with each use.

Olay Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid

It provides a 400% better cleansing (vs. basic cleansing) for refreshing clear skin you can see and feel. A compact and portable cleansing system that is small enough to keep in your hand bag for a quick, deep clean on the go.

Both cleansing brushes come with batteries and a small tube of cleanser, so they can be used straight out of the box and the device does not require charging.

Size wise, the Regenerist is a lot bigger and heavier as shown in the photo above. They are both great for travelling as they are battery operated. So you don’t have to worry about travel adapters and voltages in different countries. The Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid is probably slightly better to travel with as it’s a lot smaller and lighter.

The Regenerist device has two buttons. The larger button on the top is to turn the device on and off. The smaller button on the bottom is to change speed settings, fast or slow.

Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid also has two buttons. The top button is to switch it on and the bottom is the off button. There is only one speed setting for this device.

The Fresh Effect Va-Va-Vivid brush head is made out of plastic thick bristles and it feels completely different to other cleansing brushes I’ve tried. The Regenerist cleansing head is the usual brush bristles similar to Clarisonic.

Regenerist’s bristles are quite soft on the skin and it has a 360 rotating brush head. The Va-Va-Vivid is a vibrating device meaning the entire thing vibrates. When I first used the Va-Va-Vivid, I was surprised at how strong the vibration was. Partly because I had no idea it actually vibrated. Having said that, the Va-Va-Vivid is great for hard to reach areas like your nose and under the lip. It’s designed for the contours of your face and especially the t-zone area.

I use cleansing brushes every 2-3 days because if I use it too often red blotches start appearing due to my sensitive skin. On a side note, I have never used a cleansing brush to remove my makeup, I prefer using my oil cleanser first then the brush. It’s just a preference of mine, there’s no right or wrong. I didn’t use the cleansers that came with the box, so I can’t comment on how effective they are.

Overall, I prefer the Regenerist cleansing brush because I’m not used to vibrating brush heads. I find that the vibration on the Va-Va-Vivid is too strong and my arm gets this weird tingly feeling. However for travelling, I would bring my Va-Va-Vivid because it’s so much lighter and compact.

Have you tried cleansing brushes?
